G8WAY was a two year new media technology project designed for young people who live in the rural communities of Fenland. We worked closley with the Arts Development Manager Vicky and Tracey with Fenland District Council, and a number of community groups in March, Whittlesey and Chatteris between July 03 - May 05. Blink designed and managed a diverse programme of the new media technology initiatives which helped inform and inspire creativity in young people. For us one of the most successful initiatives was the Postcards from Fenland photo diary project in which we used camera phones mobiles like a baton passing them between one partcipant. Each person volunteered to take part and had the camera phone for one week. They sent one picture message each day and was published online without our editorial control. They decided what to photograph and publish. At the end of each week, they passed the phone onto the next person in the chain. Below are some of our favourites. |
